Caveman Camm takes on yet a new identity:

I know Caveman Camm doesn't have the best reputation. Remember this fateful event? Or the episode of him on laughing gas? Or how about some typical quotes?
Well, this Caveman Camm post is different. This is a post about the night that my dear Caveman Camm became a celebrity. This is when Cavement Camm turned into:

SUPER CAVEMAN CAMM

Doesn't he fit right in?
The crime scene: 3:30am. Several teenagers out in the middle of the night garbage-can-bandit boogie men were  being annoying teenagers and knocking over garbage cans doing very illegal activity on our street.

We were asleep. We heard a small noise outside of the window and without a pause, Caveman Camm knew just what to do. He began BANGING with all his might against the window.

I wish Guinness himself had been here because I think these guys would have set the world record for the fastest ever run. I could see the fear billowing from their eyes as they took off, jumped in a car and sped away.

Super Caveman Camm did it--he rose to the occasion, he scared the bandits, and they stopped their illegal activity.

I was left star-struck by my Super-Power husband:

And unfortunately...Camm's hand was left bleeding after using his super-power strength to bang on the window hard enough to scare the bandits but just barely not hard enough to break the glass.

A few Caveman Camm quotes...

I quickly jotted a few Caveman Camm episodes that have taken place in the last couple of weeks. For those of you who haven't read my other posts on Caveman Camm (or my husband when he sleep-talks) they can be found here and here.

Last weekend I was going to a conference in Canada. I was supposed to print off some handouts before I left but as I was printing them I relized we had no ink. Camm was asleep, but I said out loud, "Oh no! We're out of ink." Camm perked right up and our conversation went like this:
Camm: "No worry, Moll. Canada have socialized printing!"
Me: "Uh, what?"
Camm: "Canada have socialized printing!!!"
Me: "Camm, I really don't think that's true."
Camm: "Yes! They have socialized printing."
He was acting adamant.
Me: "OK, dear, whatever you say."
(Photo is a compilation of this and this)
Since graduation, Camm's two student jobs have ended. He has another job lined up that starts in a couple months, but for the time being, I am going to be the only breadwinner around here. Apparently Camm asleep likes that idea. Here's our conversation about an hour after he'd fallen asleep:
Camm: "Moll, me no do stuff."
Me: "OK Camm, just sleep."
Camm: "Me no work. Me no go school."
Me: "That's ok babe."
Camm: "No, Moll. Tomorrow I have new identity."
Me: "Oh yeah, what's that?"
Camm: "Fat Camm!"
Me: "OK, and what does Fat Camm do?"
Camm: "He no shower. He no shave. He just sleep. He eat junk food. He drive everywhere. He wear Velcro shoes."
The Velcro shoes were the part that really got to me. I tried to stifle my laugh so as to not offend the tender-hearted Caveman-Camm.
Get ready guys! The future Caveman Camm with his new identity: FatCamm

One night I was awake and Camm had fallen asleep. Suddenly he bolted alert.
Camm: "Moll, I need to pee."
Me: "OK dear. You know where to go."
Camm: "No! I tired!"
Me: "Camm, don't pee the bed."
Then he started singing (to the tune of this hymn): "Choose the wrong! When the choice is placed before you! Choose the wrong!...."
At this point I didn't even know what to think. What was the wrong that he was planning to choose? Pee in the bed? But before I knew it he was headed for the bathroom. On his way back he came up to me, furrowed his brow and puckered his lips. Apparently that is Caveman Camm's way to say he wants to kiss me. I leaned forward trying to keep a straight face and kissed him. Without a word he was back in bed.

The other night Camm fell asleep on top of our bed with his shoes still on. I tried to slip them off without him noticing.
Camm: "Moll, me sleep tonight. Me like shoes."
Me: "I'm just taking them off."
Camm: "Me no sleep shoes."
And with that he rolled over and fell asleep.

Life never gets old with Caveman Camm around.

Caveman Camm: published with permission

When Camm is asleep he has this remarkable gift of imagination. He truly believes he is a caveman and talks in that vernacular.

Here is one such night:

I was nearing the end of pregnancy and so was waking up several times a night to use the bathroom, roll to the other side to try to get comfortable, get a drink of water, etc. On this particular night, I got out of bed feeling terribly thirsty. I began to put on my slippers as I knew the kitchen floor is very chilly in the night. As I was putting them on, I was interrupted by Camm:

Camm: Moll[i]. You change costume now?
Me: No, I’m just putting on my slippers to go get a drink.
Camm: You me bring drink too?
Me: Sure Camm, I’d be happy to bring you a drink.

When I came back with the drink I handed it to Camm. Without saying a word, he sat up, held it tightly in one hand, stuck out his tongue, and proceeded to lap it up like a dog.

Naturally, I began to laugh.

Camm (with obvious angst in his voice): Moll! You no laugh at me.
I continued to laugh. Camm, being a sentimental night-time caveman, began to cry. He buried his head in the pillow and repeated several times “You no laugh at me. You no laugh at me”
Then, all of the sudden he stopped.

Camm: Moll. Water I drink. I pee bed?
Me: I don’t think so. You never have before.
Camm (in an almost high-pitched squeal): I pee bed. I pee bed.

And with that he ran to the bathroom.
I tried to fake sleep so as to avoid another Caveman Camm encounter upon his return.

[i] For those of you who don’t know, Camm calls me “Moll”. My family nickname has always been Molly. With a name as short as “Camm” I guess two syllables is even too much. So I became “Moll”
